Simple Fly Line Packaging
We are moving to simpler fly line packaging in 2025, this will be a gradual transition with each new batch of lines throughout the year.
Smaller, lighter, easier to recycle - we hope you like it.
So, if you have received a fly line without a plastic packaging spool - What do you do?
If you have a spare plastic spool from a previous line, then you can of course slip the line onto that.
If not, roll up two fishing magazines, slip the coiled line on and let the magazines unfurl until they grip the line. Now put a broom handle through the middle and suspend this between two chairs. Attach the fly line to your backing line, cut the ties, and reel in.
It is best to have the line coming off from below, that way it goes on your reel in the same direction and helps to avoid any line twist.
This is surprisingly easy to do and tangle free!
