Barrio Fly Lines are researched and developed at Haddo Trout Fishery and on the River Don in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The Barrio Fly Line range is ideal for trout fishing on our lochs and rivers and is enjoying a growing reputation for innovation, quality and value for money. With their nice supple feel and very low memory, they are simply a pleasure to cast with!
Barrio fly lines are manufactured for us in the UK to a very high standard using computer controlled production systems. Suitable for most fly fishing styles and techniques, our high quality fly lines are certainly capable of casting a good distance, but more importantly, on the water they entice you to explore accurate and delicate casts at normal fishing ranges.
Barrio Mallard Fly Lines
Barrio Mallard Fly Lines have gained a strong following over the years, conventional weight forward and double taper profiles with a nice supple feel, next to no memory and specially refined tapers, these fly lines are simply superb and offer excellent value for money!
A great floating fly line for traditional trout fishing tactics, anglers of all levels of casting ability will find the Mallard a very easy fly line to cast. BARRIO GT140 FLY LINES
( Previously called the Barrio Outcast Fly Line )
The Barrio GT140 longbelly fly line was initially designed for casting in distance tournament competitions, but the turnover, line control and stability in the air offered by this design soon helped it to become a firm favourite with anglers as a fishing line.
The Barrio GT140 fly line has superb turnover, which allows large flies to be cast with control even in the lighter line sizes and still provides excellent presentation of small flies when combined with a tapered leader. The GT140 series in WF5F to WF9F are 130 ft long and the WF2F to WF4F 90 ft versions are also proving extremely popular as they give you such great line control in all manner of fishing situations. The GT140 series is available in two colour options, the Barrio GT140 in pale cream and the Barrio GT140S in high-vis orange.
Our long, almost continuous rear taper, after the relatively short belly and front taper, produces a line that will load a rod well at short range for "off the tip" casts, yet it allows huge lengths of line to be aerialised under control when distance is required. This design combined with a new high performance coating allows anglers to shoot line from any length that they are comfortable with.
The Barrio GT140 excels at distance and provides a real alternative to other top end distance lines currently on the market, but with one real difference .... it is a superb fishing line!

BARRIO GT90 FLOATING FLY LINES
The Barrio GT90 floating fly line is great for stealthy trout fishing tactics. We have moved the weight slightly more forward in this design compared to the GT140 series and this careful weight distribution within the new 90 ft longbelly line makes it very easy to cast and control. The "Mushy Pea" light olive colour is excellent for a stealthy approach to wary, selective fish and is very subtle in the air with minimal line flash, yet nice and visible on the water surface to the angler.
Smooth and supple, effortless casting, the new Barrio GT90 lies nice and straight on the water. An excellent all rounder, the line roll casts, lifts off and mends with ease and is suitable for anglers of all levels of casting ability.

BARRIO GT90 INTERMEDIATE FLY LINES
Our new Barrio GT90 intermediate fly line is very slow sinking ( approx 1.0 to to 1.5 IPS ) and ideal for keeping your flies under control in the sub-surface taking zone. The GT90 design offers great aerial line control for both accuracy and distance casting and helps to keep the line sinking at an even rate along the length of the fly line. The "Greengrass" green colour looks quite at home in amongst the weed and is excellent for a stealthy approach to wary, selective fish, yet nice and visible in the water to the angler.
Smooth and supple, effortless casting, the new Barrio GT90 intermediate lies nice and straight and feels slick in your hand. An excellent all rounder, the line lifts off the water very well for an intermediate and is a great fly line for anglers of all levels of casting ability.

BARRIO SLX FLY LINES ( New for 2012 )
Our new Barrio SLX floating fly line has been designed to complement today's modern fly rods. The new line features a head length of approx 33 ft with a short belly and a series of multiple compound tapers to the front. The short rear taper is also compounded and helps to produce sweet loops and fast shoots from roll and spey casts whilst still retaining stability on overhead casts. The SLX is designed to be heavy on the scales, but feel light in the air and that is where the intricate tapers really come into play!
All the above properties help to make the SLX an ideal line where space is tight and accuracy matters!
The SLX loads quickly and presents a fly predictably with control at any range from 20 to 70 feet, although it is certainly not limited to this range. Suitable for anglers of all levels of casting ability, advanced casters will be able to do some pretty clever tricks with the SLX and thanks to the positive turnover, visible head and the colour change, less advanced casters will enjoy repeatable, predictable results and good range with minimal effort.
The SLX excels with a tapered leader and in the heavier sizes easily copes with salmon flies, small tubes and poly leaders, making these an excellent choice for single handed salmon or sea trout fishing.
